The article discusses ten reasons why information literacy should become part of the university curriculum. According to the author, school administrators consider information literacy as remedial and not something that actually belongs in the mainstream curriculum. However, it is said that the elements of information literacy are foundational to the definition of education. Noted is the importance of information literacy to the effective application of the lifelong learning taught to students in schools. The author claims that skilled research is a crucial part of many careers.
